The Accelerator Industry Permanent Forum (AIPF) is a collaborative platform designed to facilitate ongoing interaction and cooperation between the accelerator industry and research institutions that utilize accelerator technologies.

It was established in 2023 by TIARA, the Consortium of European Research Institutions operating Infrastructures with Particle Accelerators and is currently composed by seven representatives of industrial partners, seven representatives of the Accelerator European Centers and Institutions, two Industry Liason Officers and the TIARA coordinator as an ex-officio member.

The forum plays a critical role in maintaining a vibrant and innovative ecosystem around accelerator technologies, which are essential for many scientific and industrial applications

PERIIA Virtual GA invitation

Personal Invitation

During our 3rd PERIIA General Assembly of  Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs), it was decided that the main objectives for the period 2022-2024 were the following:

  • Be a key intermediary between the European supplier business/industry and big science-organisations for matters related to procurement, innovation and tech-transfer opportunities.
  • Enhance the big science-organisations’ interaction with business/industry in order to create an integrated and sustainable big science-market.
  • Raise awareness and improve access for business/industry (particularly SMEs) entering and acting on the big science-market.
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of best practices on how to work as an ILO.
  • Enhance the cohesion and functioning of ILO networks at relevant big science-organisations.
  • Act as a consultative reference body for other European/International stakeholders.

Following the approval of this PERIIA Working Programme in Granada 2022, in 2023 it was organized the first PERIIA Virtual General Assembly. Now, we would like to take the opportunity to meet in presence at BSBF24– Big Science Business Forum in Trieste (Italy) and invite all national ILOs to participate actively at the 5th PERIIA General Assembly aimed at:

  • Making connections among ILOs from different countries and working with different BSOs.
  • Sharing experiences and different practices among national ILOs, gaining a common spirit/understanding of the common work/functions for improving international collaborations.
  • Updating you on the work done so far by PERIIA Network – the Pan-European Research Infrastructure ILO Association and its Board (www.periia.eu).
  • Discussing proposals, agreeing on future activities and elect members for the next two years of PERIIA Network Board.

Satellite Meeting
EuPRAXIA
14:00  to  16:00 v Hall 27 - Illy

Closed Meeting

EuPRAXIA is the first European project that develops a dedicated particle accelerator research infrastructure based on novel plasma acceleration concepts driven by innovative laser and linac technologies. It was accepted onto the ESFRI roadmap for strategically important research infrastructures in June 2021 as a European priority.

The EuPRAXIA project aims at the construction of an innovative electron accelerator using laser- and electron-beam–driven plasma wakefield acceleration that offers a significant reduction in size and possible savings in cost over current state-of-the-art radiofrequency (RF)-based accelerators.

Participants of BSBF 2024 are cordially invited to attend this meeting to explore the opportunities to be involved in the development of this important infrastructure. This satellite meeting will offer participants a comprehensive overview of the project's status, insights into potential collaboration opportunities, and information on funding possibilities from both EU and UK government sources. The event will feature an open microphone session for discussions and a networking session to foster connections and partnerships.

We hope to see you at BSBF 2024 and the EuPRAXIA satellite meeting!

For registration and details of event, please see Indico agenda.

  • Domains for Innovative procurement in BSOS and training needs for ILOS.

THE INPROCAP project started on 1st of June 2024

The objective of the INPROCAP project is to build innovation procurement capabilities in BigScience Organisations (BSOs). The project will train the Industrial Liaison Offices (ILOs) to enable them to provide Advisory Services on innovative procurement.

The INPROCAP partners will engage their wider network of start-ups and innovative companies, while ensuring that BSOs are capable and prepared to embark on innovation procurement processes.

Through INPROCAP, innovation procurement will become a standard tool in the BSO toolbox. The potential of SMEs to increase their supply of innovations to the public sector BSOs will be widely disseminated, and the innovation procurement cases developed in INPROCAP will serve as examples for BSOs across the world, contributing to overcome the current dispersion observed in innovation procurement.
